The University of Regina's men's hockey team recorded its first victory of its non-conference schedule with a 5-2 win over the Manitoba Bisons on Friday afternoon in Saskatoon at the Huskie Classic.
Kyle Ross and
Dustin Bru each scored twice for the Cougars, while rookie defenceman
Ryan Bender tallied the other.
Third-year goaltender
Adam Ward was credited with the win for Regina.
The Cougars, who are now 1-1-1 in non-conference action, will face Saskatchewan on Saturday night at Rutherford Rink on the U of S campus.
Regina will finish off its non-conference schedule with a neutral-site game against Lethbridge in Maple Creek on Sept. 26.
