- Earned the Ken Shields Award as the U SPORTS player who best exhibits outstanding achievement in basketball, academics, and community involvement
- Also named the University of Regina Male Athlete of the Year and the recipient of the University of Regina President's Award
- Named a Canada West first-team all-star and the winner of the Canada West Student-Athlete Community Service Award
- Led the Cougars in both points per game (13.6) and assists per game (4.6) during conference play
- Collected 19 points and a career-high 10 rebounds for his first career double-double against Winnipeg (Oct. 30)
- Registered a career-high 25 points in a road win at Saskatchewan (Nov. 5) and matched that total one night later in another win over the Huskies (Nov. 6)
- Had two double-doubles in conference play along with a 20-point, 10-assist effort in a conference quarterfinal win over Trinity Western (Mar. 6)

UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2018-19: Named an Academic All-Canadian for the third consecutive season ... started all 20 Canada West games for the second consecutive season ... for the second straight year, led the Cougars with 68 assists ... averaged 7.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 26.0 minutes played during the conference schedule ... scored a season-high 19 points in a win at Brandon (Nov. 9) ... hit the game-winning three-pointer with no time left in regulation to give the Cougars an 82-79 road win at Victoria (Jan. 4) ... also started all three postseason games, collecting 18 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists while averaging 23.3 minutes played per game.
UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2017-18: Named an Academic All-Canadian ... moved into a full-time starting role in his second season with the Cougars ... started all 20 Canada West games and had a team-leading 68 assists during the conference schedule ... averaged 6.3 points and 3.1 rebounds per game ... scored a season-high 15 points against Fraser Valley (Nov. 10) ... had a career-high four steals against Lethbridge (Nov. 24) and against Mount Royal (Jan. 5) ... also started all three postseason games, averaging 6.7 points and 4.0 rebounds per game while leading the Cougars with 13 assists.
UNIVERSITY OF REGINA 2016-17: Named an Academic All-Canadian ... played in 18 of the team's 20 Canada West games and started five games in his first season of U SPORTS eligibility ... averaged 3.1 points and 1.9 rebounds in 16.3 minutes played per game during the conference schedule ... scored a season-high 10 points against Manitoba (Jan. 14) ... had season highs in both rebounds (9) and assists (8) against Thompson Rivers (Feb. 10) ... started both of the team's playoff contests at Manitoba and collected seven points and five assists while averaging 19 minutes played per game.
PERSONAL: Enrolled in the Faculty of Business Administration ... attended Dr. Martin LeBoldus HS in Regina before coming to the U of R ... won provincial and city championships with LeBoldus in both his Grade 11 and Grade 12 seasons ... played for Team Saskatchewan at the 2015 17U National Championship in Halifax ... older brother Samuel Hillis was a teammate on the Cougars from 2016 to 2020 ... father James Hillis played five seasons for the Cougars in the 1980s and also guided the U of R's men's basketball team for 19 seasons during a head coaching career that spanned from 1994 to 2013.
