Larry Mueller joined the U of R coaching staff as a linebackers coach prior to the 2010 season.
Mueller was a player with the Rams for five seasons with the team during its days as a junior program and served on the team's board of directors and as the president and treasurer of Regina Rams Alumni.
Mueller, who won national championships in both 1980 and 1981 as a player with the Rams, also has experience in professional football. He served as the assistant general manager for the Saskatchewan Roughriders from 1989 to 1992, winning a Grey Cup in '89. His coaching resume includes a five-year stint with Sheldon-Williams Collegiate, where he served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach and helped guide the Spartans to a provincial championship in 2006.
He has several years' experience working with national television broadcasts, currently with TSN and formerly with the CFL on CBC.
Mueller’s son Marc, the team's starting quarterback, will enter his fifth season of eligibility in 2011. His father-in-law was CFL legend Ron Lancaster, a four-time Grey Cup champion as a player and coach.
Mueller, who owns and operates Auto Extreme AutoBody in Regina, earned his B.Admin from the U of R and holds a provincial chartered accountant designation.
