• 1992 CIAU Coach of the Year (Father George Kehoe Memorial Award)
• 1992 Canada West Coach of the Year
Bill Liskowich served as head coach of the Cougars for 11 seasons, with some of the team's most successful seasons as a Canada West program coming during his tenure.
The 1991-92 squad is at the top of the list, with the Cougars reeling off a 19-6-3 record to finish first in the conference standings that season. They also finished second in the eight-team Canada West standings in two of the next three seasons and made appearances in the Canada West final in 1991, 1992, 1993, and 1996.
Liskowich took a sabbatical in 1996-97 to coach the Kokudo Bunnies of the Japan Ice Hockey League, then returned to the U of R and coached the Cougars during the 1997-98, 1998-99, and 1999-00 campaigns.
