Brooke Shatkowski joined the University of Regina coaching staff in fall of 2023 as the throws coach.
Shatkowski competed in the weight throw and the shot put from 2015 to 2021 with the Cougars, earning four Academic All-Canadian awards during her U SPORTS career. Her best season came in 2017-18, when she qualified for the U SPORTS Championships and finished eighth with a personal-best throw of 15.06 metres that ranks fifth in program history. Her best result in the shot put also came during that season with a throw of 12.02 metres which put her in fourth place at the Canada West Championships. Shatkowski also earned the track & field team's Academic and Athletic Achievement Award in 2018.
In addition to coaching track & field, Shatkowski is an official for Saskatchewan Athletics, coaches a number of sports in the Regina High School Athletic Association, and is heavily involved in Saskatchewan Handball. Shatkowski graduated with a joint B.A./B.Ed. degree in French Immersion Education and French & Francophone Intercultural Studies from the University of Regina. She is currently working as a high school language teacher for Regina Public Schools.
