Introducing Taylor Bubnick! She's a third-year midfielder from Saskatoon. #KnowYourCougs #WeAreUofR High school: St. Joseph High School Previous clubs: Trinity Western University, Swansea City Ladies FC, HPDC-SK Favourite food: Spaghetti and meatballs Area of study: Dual undergraduate degree in kinesiology and secondary education After I obtain my degree, I plan to: Continue my education by going into physiotherapy, teaching in a high school, or entering med school to become a pediatrician. What I do in my free time: I enjoy spending time with my family, going for a run, going to the field to work on different aspects of my game, taking my dogs for a walk, making food, and going camping. Why I'm a Cougar: It is a privilege to be a part of the U of R Soccer program. I decided to come to the U of R to pursue both my academic and athletic goals because it had features that other Universities didn’t offer such as the Academic All-Canadian opportunity and access to our field and training equipment whenever desired. These are two aspects that provide an environment that encourages both academic and athletic excellence. The core values of the program such as being accountable, fostering a respectful environment, providing healthy competition in training, and ultimately conducting ourselves in a manner that reflects the concept of being a total athlete are all reasons why I am part of the Cougar family and all influenced my decision to be a part of women’s soccer program. The support from coaches, teammates, trainers, athletic therapists, and academic advisors is excellent and is exactly the type of support you need when balancing academics and athletics. I'm proud to be a U of R student-athlete because: I am proud to be a Cougar student athlete because I believe in always striving to be become better and to improve and this is integral in both the classroom and on the field. It is impossible to achieve success in one if you are struggling with the other and this balance becomes essential especially during our intense seasons. I believe in using athletics to give back to the community through various ways and the University always finds a way to do this whether
