The University of Regina's women's rugby 7s team finished in eighth place at the third Canada West tournament hosted by the University of British Columbia over the weekend in Vancouver.
The Cougars matched up with UBC, Lethbridge, and Alberta in their three round-robin games and lost by scores of 78-0, 58-0, and 55-0, respectively.
That sent the Cougars into a consolation semifinal against Trinity Western on Saturday, which the Spartans took by a 37-0 score to put the Cougars into the seventh-place game. In their final contest of the weekend, Regina lost by a score of 48-0 to UBC's second side.
The tournament marked the final games of the 2022-23 season for the Cougars.Â
