University of Regina Women's hockey head coach
Brandy West-McMaster announced Friday that Forward
Sierra Meroniuk has committed to the Cougars for the 2025-26 season.
Meroniuk spent the past two seasons playing for the Adelaide Rush in the Australian Women's Ice Hockey League. She suited-up for 27 games for the Rush, scoring 11 goals and adding 18 assists for a total of 29 points.
"We're excited to add Sierra to the roster," said West-McMaster. "She brings a strong physical game, dominates faceoffs, battles hard on the boards, and owns the net in front. Her maturity as a player and international experience will contribute an inspiring dynamic."
Before her time in Australia, Meroniuk played two seasons with the NAIT Ooks in Edmonton and one season at Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin, who competed in DIII of the NCAA.
Originally from Sturgis, Sask., Meroniuk played three seasons for the Weyburn Gold Wings U18 program. She plans to enroll in the Faculty of Business at the U of R.
