Canada West has unveiled its 2025-26 men's and women's hockey all-star and all-rookie selections, recognizing the conference's top performers and standout newcomers from the regular season.

University of Regina first-year goaltender Amy Swayze was named to the Canada West All-Rookie Team after a stellar debut U SPORTS season. Swayze, from Weyburn, Sask. and a product of the Weyburn Gold Wings program, played in 17 Canada West games and had a 6-9-1 record while compiling a 2.14 goals-against average and a .935 save percentage.

"Amy embraced the pressure from Day 1," Cougars head coach Brandy West-McMaster said. "With no backup available, she confidently started the first three conference games and crushed expectations. Amy quickly earned the respect of her opponents and the trust of her teammates with her composure, resilience, and steady presence in net."

Swayze registered two shutouts during the season, stopping 31 shots in a 3-0 home win over Calgary on Oct. 4 and making 28 saves in a 1-0 road win over MacEwan on Nov. 8.

"Amy's performance consistently gave our team the chance to compete and win," McMaster said. "I am so proud of the attitude and effort that Amy brings to the classroom, to the gym, and to the ice. She is a player who truly chooses greatness every day and elevates our team standards."

Swayze is the fourth goalie in U of R history to be named to the Canada West All-Rookie Team. Lisa Urban and Naticia Leskun earned all-rookie recognition in back-to-back seasons in 2008 and 2009, respectively, as did Arden Kliewer in 2022.
