University of Regina women's hockey coach Brandy West-McMaster announced Friday that forward Alexandra Haug has committed to the Cougars for the 2027-28 season.

Haug, a Spruce Grove, Alta. native, currently plays for the Edmonton Jr. Oilers program, where she has three goals and four assists in 22 games this season.

"Alex embodies everything we look for in a student-athlete – work ethic, skill, and a team-first mindset," said West-McMaster. "She competes hard, leads by example, and elevates the players around her."

Haug joins her Jr. Oilers teammate Gracie Dengler in the U of R's 2027 recruiting class. She plans to enroll in either the Faculty of Education or the Faculty of Nursing.
