The University of Regina's women's basketball team finished with a perfect 3-0 record at the non-conference BOB FM Shootout hosted over the weekend by the University of Winnipeg.
Michelle Clark (pictured) was named the tournament MVP, while
Brittany Read earned tournament all-star honours.

Sunday stats]
The Cougars finished the tournament with a 79-61 victory over Winnipeg on Sunday, opening up an 11-point lead in the early going of the second quarter and holding onto the double-digit lead the rest of the way.
Clark led all players with 17 points and eight assists, while
Danielle Schmidt and
Lindsay Ledingham both chipped in with 11 points. Read added a team-high eight rebounds.
Tia Coulter led Winnipeg with 14 points.

Saturday stats]
The Cougars recorded their second win in as many nights on Saturday after taking out Lakehead by a 73-55 score. Lakehead had stuck around for the majority of the contest and trailed by just nine heading into the fourth quarter, but the U of R opened the final period with eight straight points and didn't look back.
Danielle Schmidt was 3-for-5 from three-point range and led the Cougars with 14 points, while
Lindsay Ledingham scored 12 points.
Brittany Read had a team-high nine rebounds and led all players with four blocks.
Carolyn Fragale led Lakehead with 15 points.

Friday stats]
On Friday, the Cougars dominated from start to finish in a 93-42 victory over Manitoba. Five U of R players hit double figures in the win, led by 17 from Ledingham and 14 from Read.
Jennilea Coppola scored 11 and grabbed nine rebounds to fall one board short of a double-double.
After the Cougars play tournament host Winnipeg on Sunday, they'll play host to Fraser Valley, Carleton, and Alberta next weekend at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
