Canada West announced its 2025-26 basketball all-stars and All-Rookie Team selections on Thursday, honouring the U of R's
Cara Misskey as a first-team all-star,
Jade Belmore as a second-team all-star, and Lilly Vande Graff as an all-rookie.
Misskey has enjoyed a sensational campaign, averaging a team-high 14.9 points per game while leading Canada West with a total of 113 assists in the regular season. It's the fifth-year guard's third Canada West all-star selection, but the first time that Misskey has earned first-team all-star status.
Belmore earns a Canada West all-star nod for the fifth time in as many seasons, making the fifth-year guard the first player in U of R history to earn five conference all-star selections. Belmore was a third-team all-star in 2022 and a first-team all-star in 2023, 2024, and 2025 before landing on the second team this season.
Vande Graff stepped right into the lineup of the No. 4-ranked Cougars and earned a spot on the Canada West All-Rookie Team. She averaged 7.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while earning a significant amount of floor time in her first U SPORTS season, finishing the regular season with 21.4 minutes played per game.
Misskey, Belmore, Vande Graff, and the rest of the Cougars fly to Vancouver on Thursday ahead of Friday's Canada West semifinal showdown against UBC. Tip-off for that contest is set for 6:00 PM (PST).
