PODBIELSKI LEADS MEN'S SCORERS
  • Podbielski ran away from the field in the 1500-metre run on Saturday afternoon, giving the third-year runner a total of three gold medals for the weekend and locking up Canada West Men's Track Athlete of the Year honours.
  • He also earned Men's Performance of the Meet honours for his dominating run in the 1500. He finished with a time of 3:45.92, breaking the old conference record of 3:47.43 set by Calgary's Eric Lutz back in 2022.
  • Podbielski's big run in the 1500 on Saturday came after gold medals in both the 1000-metre run and the 3000-metre run on Friday. He scored 30 of the men's team's 81 points at the meet, the highest individual total of any athlete at the meet on the men's side.
