The University of Regina's track & field teams combined to score 25 points and break three school records over the weekend at the U SPORTS Championships hosted by the University of Manitoba.
Shelaine Pritchard scored 10 of the women's team's 17 points with her pentathlon gold on Thursday. Her total of 4187 points in the five-discipline event broke the school record she set in January.
The Cougars picked up their other seven women's points on Friday.
Queen Clayton placed fifth in the 300-metre dash with a time of 38.54 seconds, scoring four points and breaking her own U of R record of 38.87 seconds set last month at the Pandas Open.
Pritchard added three more points for the Cougars with a sixth-place finish in the long jump (5.94m).
The men's 4x200-metre relay team of
Adam Sieben,
Femi Akinloye,
Colby Halliday, and
Brett Franklin finished fifth in 1:27.62 to score four points while breaking the previous school record of 1:27.74, which had stood since the 2023 U SPORTS meet.
Akinloye also had the top individual finish for the men's team, placing sixth in the 60-metre dash with a time of 6.77 seconds in Thursday's final.
Andrew Benko rounded out the scoring for the U of R, finishing eighth in the shot put with a throw of 14.88 metres.
