The University of Regina women's hockey team has announced that Jade Pelland, a forward from Winnipeg, has committed to join the Cougars for the 2026-27 season.

Pelland, who is currently enrolled at Ontario Hockey Prep Academy in Cornwall, Ont. for her grade 12 year, played the last three seasons at St. Mary's Academy Prep in Winnipeg.

"Jade is a hard-working, physical and smart player," Cougars head coach Brandy West-McMaster said. "She brings relentless second efforts and a personality that's all her own. We're proud to welcome her to the team."

Pelland played 24 games with St. Mary's in the 2024-25 season, scoring four goals and adding eight assists in the regular season. She has also played two stints with Team Manitoba at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships.

Pelland joins Isabelle Luttmerding, Darby Marshall, Raela Packet and Ivy Perkin as 2026-27 commits for the Cougars, and plans to enroll in the Faculty of Science.
