The University of Regina women's hockey team has added defender Aliyah Teixeira for the 2026-27 season, head coach
Brandy West-McMaster announced on Wednesday.
Teixeira, who hails from Winnipeg, Man., spent the 2024-25 season with the Winnipeg Ice, scoring five goals and adding 15 assists in 32 games.
"Aliyah will bring a lot to our back line with her great hockey sense," West-McMaster said. "She's calm under pressure and moves the puck quickly and with real purpose. Her ability to read the play and make smart decisions will be a big asset for us."
Teixeira plans to enroll in either Science or Kinesiology at the U of R. She joins Jade Pelland, Isabelle Luttmerding, Darby Marshall, Raela Packet and Ivy Perkin as 2026-27 commits for the Cougars.
