Goaltender Damon Cunningham commits to Cougars for 2025-26 season

Played for the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL in 2024-25

University of Regina men's hockey coach Trevor Keeper announced Tuesday that goaltender Damon Cunningham has committed to the program. Originally from Surgeon County, AB, Cunningham played in 39 games for the Aberdeen Wings of the NAHL in 2024-25.

"I'm very excited to join a great program at the University of Regina," said Cunningham. "Coach Keeper has assembled a great team, and I know we'll do everything we can to win games and bring the University of Regina back to the playoffs."

During his stellar 2024-25 campaign, Cunningham posted a 2.55 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage, helping the Wings to a 21-17 record and a playoff appearance. In five playoff games, Cunningham posted a 2.35 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

Before joining the Wings, he spent time with the Nipawin Hawks of the SJHL and the Sicamous Eagles of the KIHL.

Cunningham will be enrolling in the Faculty of Business Administration in the Fall.
