University of Regina men's hockey coach Trevor Keeper announced Tuesday that Forward Cole Wirun has committed to the program. Wirun most recently played for the North Iowa Bulls of the NAHL.

"I'm truly honored to be joining the University of Regina and the Cougars hockey program," said Wirun. "This opportunity represents the next step in both my academic and athletic journey, and I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead, growing alongside my teammates, and representing the University with integrity and commitment."

Wirun had 19 goals and 38 assists in 57 games for the Bulls in the 2024-25 season. Before joining the Bulls, he spent time with the Notre Dame Hounds and Canmore Eagles.

"We're very excited to have Cole join our program," said Keeper. "He possesses high hockey IQ, vision, and toughness with a unique ability to finish while also distributing the puck accurately. Cole's feet never stop moving, and he is capable of playing at a U SPORTS pace on day one."

Wirun – who is originally from Lethbridge, AB – will be enrolling in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science in the Fall.
