• 2012 Canada West Coach of the Year
Bob Maltman was hired as the University of Regina's women's soccer head coach in May of 2007. After leading the Cougars on a part-time basis for five seasons, he became the school's first full-time women's soccer coach in the summer of 2012.
He then guided the Cougars to their best season in program history, as the team crushed school records for conference wins (8) and points (25) in a season and advanced to its first Canada West Final Four after a home postseason victory over Saskatchewan in the conference semifinals. Maltman was an easy selection for the Canada West Coach of the Year following the team's historic season. The Cougars then put together a 5-5-2 record in 2013 to qualify for the postseason for the second consecutive year.
Maltman has been heavily involved with soccer in Saskatchewan for nearly two decades. After coaching provincial all-star teams in the mid-1990s, he served as the AC Football Club's technical director from 2001 to 2004 and also spent time working with Regina's National Training Centre program in 2002 and 2003.
He has also been heavily involved with the Saskatchewan Soccer Association's provincial programs, with his highlight coming in the summer of 2008 when he coached the province's U15 team to a 6-1-0 record and a gold medal at the USA Cup in Blaine, Minn.
He was also hired as the Prince Albert Youth Soccer Association's technical director in December of 2010, a position he left to assume the Cougar program on a full-time basis.
Maltman, who also spent time with the Cougars as an assistant coach under Mike Hudson during the program's inaugural 2001 season, is the school's all-time leader in coaching wins.
