Box Score Game Summary

Goals by Hillary Lerat and Kelsie Graham 32 seconds apart gave the University of Regina's women's hockey team a 3-2 lead early in the second period, but the No. 4-ranked Manitoba Bisons scored three unanswered goals later in the period to secure a 5-3 win over the Cougars on Friday night.

The teams swapped goals in the first period. Tammy Brade's power play goal put the Bisons (5-0-0) on the board, but Graham replied with the first of her two goals five minutes later to knot the game at one.

Leanne Kisil scored on the power play early in the second to give the Bisons a 2-1 lead, but the goals by Lerat and Graham quickly gave the Cougars (0-3-0) their first lead of the game.

Regina's slim lead disappeared after Kisil's second goal of the period, and goals by Addie Miles and Sarah Francis gave the Bisons all the offence they would need.

Stacey Corfield made 18 saves to secure the win for Manitoba. Lisa Urban had 22 saves in the loss for the Cougars.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night at the Max Bell Arena on the University of Manitoba campus.
