Box Score Game Summary
The University of Regina's men's hockey team lost a narrow 2-1 decision on Friday night to the Alberta Golden Bears at Clare Drake Arena in Edmonton.
Alberta opened the scoring with just three seconds remaining in the second period when Chad Klassen notched his fourth goal of the season on a power play.
Blair Stengler scored at the 11:20 mark of the third period to tie the game at one apiece, but the Golden Bears' Brian Woolger scored the game-winner just three minutes later.
Brant Hilton was spectacular between the pipes for Regina. Alberta (5-2-0) peppered the second-year goalie with 41 shots, and he stopped 39 of them. Aaron Sorochan made 21 saves and recorded the win for Alberta.
The loss drops the Cougars' record to 3-4-2 on the season. With eight points, the U of R is tied for fourth place in the conference.
The two teams will meet again in Edmonton on Saturday night.
