10/4/2008 11:39:09 PM

Box Score The University of Regina's women's hockey team dropped to 0-2-0 on the season after suffering a 10-2 defeat to the Saskatchewan Huskies on Saturday night at Rutherford Rink in Saskatoon.

The Cougars outshot Saskatchewan by a 13-7 margin during the first period, but couldn't solve Huskie goaltender Vanessa Frederick.

The floodgates opened up for the Huskies in the second period, though, as Saskatchewan scored four goals in the first nine minutes to blow the game wide open. The Cougars got goals from Stefanie Banilevic and Rianne Wight in the second, but the Huskies held a 7-2 lead by the end of two.

Frederick recorded the win for Saskatchewan, while Lisa Urban took the loss for the Cougars.

The Cougars will hit the road next weekend for a two-game series at Manitoba (2-0-0).
