Five different Huskies scored on Saturday night to power No. 4 Saskatchewan to a 5-1 win over the Regina Cougars on Saturday night in Canada West men's hockey action at the Sherwood Ice Sports Centre. The win gives the Huskies a weekend sweep over the Cougars.
Brett Parker opened the scoring for the Huskies early in the first period, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead, and Andrew DaSilva extended the Saskatchewan lead to two after he notched his league-leading 11th goal of the season. The Huskies outshot the Cougars by a 12-6 margin in the first period.
The Cougars drew to within one after rookie defenceman
Russ Nielsen wired a slap shot over Saskatchewan goalie Jeff Harvey's trapper.

Dylan Chapman assisted on the power play goal, Nielsen's first of his CIS career.
Huskies captain Trent Adamus restored Saskatchewan's two-goal lead just over three minutes after Nielsen's goal, and the Huskies weren't done there. Two minutes after Adamus' second goal of the season, Steven Gillen made the score 4-1 after beating
Brant Hilton following a flurry in front of Regina's net.
Chris Durand scored the lone goal of the third period, extending the Huskie lead to four. A total of 45 minutes in penalties were called during the final frame, most of them coming in two separate brouhahas late in the period.
Harvey stopped 20 of Regina's 21 shots to record the win. Hilton made 24 saves for the Cougars.
The win improves Saskatchewan's record to 11-4-1 on the season. The Huskies are currently in first place in the conference with 23 points and won't return to action until after the Christmas break.
The Cougars, now 5-7-2, will play a pair of road games at Manitoba next weekend.
