Box Score Game Summary

Breanne George scored a hat trick and added an assist to lead the Saskatchewan Huskies to a 4-2 win over the Regina Cougars on Saturday afternoon in a Canada West game at Rutherford Rink in Saskatoon.

Robin Ulrich's first goal of the season gave the Huskies (7-6-1) a 1-0 lead midway through the first period. The score stayed that way until the 12:58 mark of the second period, when Kelcie McCutcheon knotted the game one on a power play marker. Kara McGeough and Jayme-Lee Green assisted the goal.

It looked as if the teams might head into the second intermission tied, but George scored her first goal of the game on the power play with just 13 seconds remaining in the second.

McGeough scored an unassisted power play goal 1:50 into the third to tie the game at two apiece, but George's second and third goals of the game in the second half of the third period gave the Huskies all the offence they needed.

Chauntal Armet made 24 saves to record the win for Saskatchewan. Lisa Urban stopped 21 of the Huskies' 25 shots in the loss.

The Cougars (3-9-0) were 2-for-9 on the power play, while Saskatchewan went 1-for-8 with the man advantage.

Regina will return home next weekend against Manitoba. The Cougars and the Bisons will face off at 7 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday at the Sherwood Ice Sports Centre.
