The University of Regina's women's basketball team improved to 2-0 on the season after defeating the Lethbridge Pronghorns 75-61 on Saturday night in a Canada West game in Lethbridge.

Brittany Read had her second consecutive double-double for the Cougars, leading all players in both points (18) and rebounds (14). She was 8-for-10 from the field, and nine of her 14 rebounds came on the offensive glass.

Rebecca Schmidt had 13 points for Regina, while Joanna Zalesiak chipped in with 12 points, five assists, and five rebounds.

Kenzie Sheen led Lethbridge with 16 points.

The Cougars have a 2-0 record in the Prairie Division and will play their home openers next weekend against Simon Fraser (3-0) and Trinity Western (0-2).
