The University of Regina's women's basketball team improved to 16-4 after defeating the Manitoba Bisons by a 80-47 score on Sunday afternoon at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.
Regina led by three points after one quarter and by 11 points at halftime, then put the game away in the third. The Cougars outscored the Bisons by a 22-4 margin in the third quarter and cruised to a 33-point victory to complete the weekend sweep.
Playing in just her ninth game of the season,
Maja Kralovcova came off the bench to lead the Cougars with 15 points and seven rebounds in 20 minutes on the floor. Kralovcova was 7-for-9 from the field and led all players with four offensive boards.
Rebecca Schmidt had 13 points for Cougars, while

Dave Taylor spread the minutes around for the second consecutive night, as no Cougar played more than 20 minutes during the win.
Manitoba's Tessa Klassen led all players with 16 points, while Jenna Ralston and Mubo Ilelaboye each pulled down six rebounds for the Bisons, who drop to 7-13 on the season. Manitoba will finish off its regular season with a pair of games at Simon Fraser and Trinity Western next weekend.
The Bisons will play crosstown rival Winnipeg in a best-of-three Great Plains Division semifinal series two weekends from now, with the winner advancing to face the Cougars in the division final at the CKHS.
Winners of four straight games, the Cougars will finish off their Canada West schedule next weekend with a pair of games at home against Brandon.
