The University of Regina's women's basketball team completed a Canada West weekend sweep over the Brandon Bobcats with a 92-52 victory on Saturday night at the Centre for Kinesiology, Health & Sport.

The Cougars put the game away by scoring 19 consecutive points just after halftime, helping to build up a lead that reached as much as 44 points early in the fourth quarter.

“We didn't play with the same focus as Friday night,” Cougars head coach Dave Taylor said. “It was a better second half, but Brandon was in tough tonight only dressing seven players.”

Third-year forward Vanessa Wesolowski recorded career highs in both points (17) and rebounds (9) in just 15 minutes on the floor for the Cougars. Joanna Zalesiak had 16 points and a game-high seven assists, while Carly Graham hit four three-pointers and also scored 16.

Sarah Lopes (13) and Kelsey Solarchuk (12) also scored in double digits for Brandon, which falls to 0-4 with the loss.
