Box Score Game Summary
The No. 4-ranked Alberta Pandas scored three times in the third period en route to a 5-1 win over the University of Regina on Saturday night in a Canada West women's hockey game at the Clare Drake Arena in Edmonton.
The Pandas (6-3-1) took a 2-0 lead into the second intermission thanks to a goal from Lindsie Fairfield just 46 seconds into the contest and one from Andrea Boras midway through the second.
Melody Howard scored for Alberta five minutes into the third, but the Cougars (4-5-1) got on the board less than two minutes later after
Gina Campbell sniped her third of the season on the power play.
Sarah Hilworth restored Alberta's three-goal lead with a power play goal at 12:39, then put the game away for the Pandas with her second of the period with just over four minutes left in the final frame.
Kaitlyn Chapman stopped 19 of 20 shots between the pipes for Alberta, while Regina goaltender
Lisa Urban made 27 saves in the loss.
The Cougars were 1-for-3 on the power play. The Pandas scored on one of their six opportunities with the man advantage.
The U of R will return home next weekend to host the Lethbridge Pronghorns (2-7-1) at The Co-Operators Centre on Friday and Saturday nights.
