Women’s hockey blanked by Dinos

Amanda Tapp had a 20-save shutout and Hayley Wickenheiser had a four-point night to lead the Calgary Dinos to a 7-0 victory over the University of Regina in Canada West women's hockey action on Friday night.

Wickenheiser had a goal and three helpers. Erika Mitschke scored a pair, while Jenna Smith, Caitlin O'Hara, Elana Lovell, and Melissa Zubick each had one goal for the Dinos, who outshot Regina by a 27-20 margin during the victory.

Lisa Urban started the game between the pipes for the Cougars, but was pulled after the first period. Naticia Leskun played the final 40 minutes and stopped 14 of 17 shots.

The Cougars were 0-for-6 on the power play, while Calgary scored on two of their seven opportunities with the man advantage.

The victory improves No. 9-ranked Calgary's record to 8-4-0, while the Cougars fall to 5-6-2 on the season.

The two teams will square off again in Calgary on Saturday night.
