The Manitoba Bisons broke a 1-1 deadlock late in the third period with three goals in the final four minutes, giving them a 4-1 win over the Regina Cougars in a Canada West men's hockey game at the Max Bell Arena in Winnipeg.

Lucas Isley scored just 54 seconds into the third period to tie the game at one. The score stayed that way until the 16:11 mark of the final frame, when Blair MacAulay notched what would turn out to be the game-winning goal. Greg Beller's first goal of the season two minutes after MacAulay's marker extended the lead to two, and the Bisons added an empty netter with five seconds left.
Kyle Howarth opened the scoring for Manitoba (4-2-1) with a goal just shy of the eight-minute mark of the first.
Steve Christie turned aside 16 shots in the win for Manitoba, while #A.J. Whiffen# was kept busy as the first-year goalie made 39 saves in a losing cause for the Cougars (4-5-0).
The two teams will meet again on Saturday night.
