Box Score Game Summary
The Lethbridge Pronghorns scored three times in the first half of the first period and went on to a 4-1 victory over the Regina Cougars on Friday night in a Canada West men's hockey game in Lethbridge.
Dustin Moore opened the scoring with his ninth of the season at the 5:47 mark of the first, and Gaetano Donato scored just over two minutes later to extend Lethbridge's lead to two. Moore's second goal of the period came less than two minutes after Donato's marker, chasing Regina starter
Brant Hilton from the net.
Justin Scott scored for the Cougars to bring them back to within two before the first intermission, but that was all the offence Regina could muster.
Adam Chorneyko assisted on all three of Lethbridge's first-period goals. Mark Shefchyk scored an insurance marker for the Pronghorns in the third.
Scott Bowles made 42 saves to secure the win for Lethbridge.
Adam Ward stopped 28 of 29 shots for the Cougars after coming in for Hilton.
The Cougars must win on Saturday night to remain in contention for a Canada West playoff berth.
