Box Score Game Summary

University of Regina third-year goalie Lisa Urban made 46 saves, but the Cougars were defeated 3-0 by the Alberta Pandas in Game 1 of the best-of-three Canada West semifinals on Friday night in Edmonton.

Urban stopped all 18 shots she faced in the first period, but allowed goals to Alberta's Tarin Podloski and Rayanne Reeve in the first five minutes of the second. She kept the Pandas off the board until late in the third, when Andrea Boras scored an insurance marker on the power play.

Alberta outshot Regina by a 49-12 margin during the contest. Reeve and Boras both scored on the power play as the Pandas were 2-for-7 with the man advantage. The Cougars were held scoreless on their nine power play opportunities.

The two teams will meet in Game 2 of the series on Saturday night in Edmonton.
