Box Score Game Summary

Breanne George's goal with eight seconds left in the first period proved to be the game-winning tally, as the Saskatchewan Huskies won 2-1 over the University of Regina in Canada West women's hockey action on Friday night in Saskatoon.

Shelby Davey opened the scoring for Saskatchewan with her third of the season early in the first on the power play before George's goal gave them a two-goal cushion heading into the second period.

Gina Campbell's unassisted shorthanded goal seven minutes into the second would be Regina's only goal of the contest.

Mackenzie Rizos made 29 saves for Saskatchewan, while Lisa Urban was peppered with 43 shots and stopped 41.

The win improves Saskatchewan's record to 9-5-1, while the Cougars fall to 5-8-2 on the season.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday night in Regina. Game time is 7 p.m. at The Co-Operators Centre.
