Kyle Bortis scored twice in the span of 29 seconds midway through the third period to give the University of Saskatchewan Huskies a 5-4 win over the Regina Cougars on Saturday night in a Canada West game in Saskatoon.

The Cougars had taken a 4-3 lead early in the third period after Terrance DeLaronde's second goal of the game, but Bortis scored at 11:12 and 11:41 to turn a one-goal deficit into a one-goal led and the Huskies staved off Regina for the remainder of the period to secure the win.

Brennan Bosch, Chad Suer, and Kyle Ross also scored for Saskatchewan. Matt Strueby and Lucas Isley both scored singles for Regina (0-4-0) in addition to DeLaronde's pair.

Ryan Holfeld made 24 saves in the win for the Huskies (3-0-0), while Lucas Gore stopped 16 shots for the Cougars.

Regina will be back in action next weekend with a pair of road games at Manitoba (4-0-0).
