Chris Durand had a hat trick and a five-point night as the University of Saskatchewan scored a 10-2 victory over the Regina Cougars on Friday night in Canada West men's hockey action in Saskatoon.

Kyle Bortis and Michael Kaye had four-point efforts for Saskatchewan, with Bortis recording a pair of goals and two assists and Kaye scoring once and adding three helpers. David Reekie stopped 22 shots in the win for the Huskies.

Lucas Isley (pictured) and Craig Cuthbert both scored for the Cougars in the loss. Lucas Gore got the start for Regina despite being injured during practice on Thursday, but wasn't able to play through it and got pulled after the first period. Troy Moltz, who was added to the roster in mid-November after A.J. Whiffen left the team, played the final two periods for Regina.

Saskatchewan was 3-for-5 on the power play, while both of Regina's goals came with the man advantage.

The Cougars (4-9-2) and the No. 6-ranked Huskies (10-2-2) meet again on Saturday night at Rutherford Rink.
