The University of Regina's men's hockey team was defeated 6-0 by Saskatchewan on Saturday night in a Canada West game at Rutherford Rink in Saskatoon.

Six different Huskies scored in the win, including Matthew Spafford, Shaun Vey, Matthew Delahey, Kyle Bortis, Kyle Ross, and Michael Kaye. Ryan Holfeld stopped all 35 shots to record the shutout for No. 6-ranked Saskatchewan (11-2-2).

With first-year goalie Lucas Gore unavailable due to an injury suffered in practice on Thursday, Troy Moltz got the call between the pipes for the Cougars and made 23 saves. Despite the lopsided loss, the Cougars actually outshot Saskatchewan by a 35-29 margin.

Saskatchewan was 2-for-5 on the power play, while the Cougars were scoreless on their five opportunities with the man advantage.

The Cougars, who move to 4-10-2 with the loss, will return to action on Jan. 6 and Jan. 7 against the University of Manitoba at home at The Co-operators Centre.
