Box Score Game Summary

A shorthanded goal by Jacey Jones four minutes into the third period gave the University of Regina's women's hockey team a 3-2 win and a weekend sweep over the Lethbridge Pronghorns on Saturday night in Lethbridge.

Paige Wheeler assisted on Jones' game-winning tally and scored both of Regina's first two goals to notch her first three-point game of her CIS career.

Wheeler opened the scoring on the power play 12 minutes into the first, with Kelcie McCutcheon and Rianne Wight registering assists. Lethbridge's Ashley Beattie tied up the game with a power play goal of her own 40 seconds before the first intermission.

The second period was a mirror image of the first. Wheeler scored from Wight and McCutcheon five minutes in, but a goal by the Pronghorns' Jenna-Marie Durnan tied the game at two with just 13 seconds left in the middle frame.

Jones' goal was the only goal of the third, as Regina goalie Lisa Urban made 11 of her 25 saves in the final period to secure her ninth victory of the season.

Shauntelle Williams made 30 saves for Lethbridge (4-17-3).

The Cougars finish the 2010-11 season with a 9-13-2 Canada West record.
