The University of Regina's women's hockey team suffered a 2-0 loss to the Manitoba Bisons on Friday night in a Canada West game at the Max Bell Centre in Winnipeg.

Rachele Bosc scored for Manitoba early in the second, Nellie Minshull added an empty netter in the final minute of the game, and Leiette Klassen had a 19-save shutout for the Bisons, who improve their conference record to 8-5-2.

Bosc's game winner, her third goal of the season, came on a backhander that beat Cougar goalie Lisa Urban just shy of the four-minute mark of the middle frame. It was the contest's lone goal until Minshull sealed the victory with 20 seconds remaining.

Urban was strong in the loss, making 24 saves for the Cougars (4-10-1).

Neither team was able to convert on the power play, as Manitoba was 0-for-6 and Regina was 0-for-3.

The two teams will play again on Saturday night in a game that will again be webcast live at www.canadawest.tv. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Max Bell Centre.
