The University of Regina's women's basketball team improved its Canada West record to 19-0 after a 78-63 road win over Lethbridge on Saturday night.

The No. 1-ranked Cougars looked like they might run away with this one in the first half after scoring 11 straight to take a 14-point lead at the four-minute mark of the second-quarter, but Lethbridge got right back into it with a 14-6 run and trailed by only seven at the half.

A three-pointer by Lethbridge's Morgan Cross tied the game in the third quarter, but Carly Graham replied with a three of her own for Regina to give the Cougars a lead that they wouldn't relinquish. Lethbridge got to within seven points late in the fourth quarter, but the Cougars scored 10 straight points down the stretch – including back-to-back three-pointers by Michelle Clark – to secure the victory.

Graham ended up with five three-pointers and scored a team-high 17 for Regina, while Lindsay Ledingham had 14 and Danielle Schmidt scored 13. Joanna Zalesiak (12 points) and Clark (10) also scored in double figures for the Cougars.

Kim Veldman led Lethbridge with 18 points.

The Cougars will close out the conference schedule with a road game on Feb. 18 at Saskatchewan.

NOTES: Clark had three three-pointers on Saturday to give her 55 for the year, breaking Graham's single-season record of 52 set in 2010-11.
