Jennilea Coppola's big double-double helped lead the University of Regina's women's basketball team to a big 93-68 road win over UNBC on Saturday night in Prince George, B.C.

Coming off the bench for the first time this year, Coppola scored 20 points and added 12 rebounds to register season highs in both categories. Her 20 points was also a career high, breaking her previous best of 12 points. Katie Polischuk was 5-for-11 from three-point range and had 19 points, while Nicole Clarke had 17 and Kehlsie Crone, Madi Docherty, and Alyssia Kajati each had 10 points as all five starters broke into double figures.

The two teams played most of the opening period tight until a 12-0 run by the Cougars turned a tie ball game into a double-digit advantage by the seven-minute mark of the second quarter. The Cougars led by nine at the half and essentially put the game out of reach with a 10-0 run that spanned the latter stages of the third quarter and the first part of the fourth and pushed the lead over 20.

Jen Bruce led UNBC with 19 points as the Timberwolves fall to 3-4 on the season.

The Cougars will finish off the first half of the Canada West schedule next weekend with a pair of road games at Lethbridge.
