Cougars capture first place at Mandi Schwartz Challenge

The University of Regina Cougars women's hockey team defeated the Saskatchewan Huskies 5-0 on Sunday afternoon to capture first place at the Mandi Schwartz Challenge.

Kristin Boan had two goals and an assist in the win, while Brooklyn Moskowy (pictured) scored a pair of first-period goals. Jordan Doram also found the back of the net.
Natasha Kostenko collected three assists and Billee Canning added one.

Toni Ross played the entire game in net and was awarded the shutout.

In Saturday's action, the Cougars were defeated 4-0 by the Manitoba Bisons.
Jane Kish made her first start in net with the Cougars and allowed three goals before Manitoba added an empty-netter.

In Friday's game, the U of R cruised past York with a 5-0 win.
Kylee Kupper led the way for the Cougars, scoring a pair of goals and adding an assist. Kylie Gavelin, Emma Waldenberger, and Tori Head also scored.

The Cougars are to face the Huskies again for their final exhibition game. The game is scheduled for Saturday in Kindersley, Sask.
