The University of Regina men's hockey team is in action this weekend, as the Cougars travel to Calgary for a pair of games against the Dinos.
The Cougars are coming off two losses against the UBC Thunderbirds last weekend, as the hometown T-Birds downed the Cougars 3-1 and 6-1.
Sanfred King scored his first of the season in Friday's game, and
Cody Fowlie netted his second of the year the following night.
Calgary enters the weekend two spots above the Cougars, in sixth place in Canada West. The Dinos are sporting a 3-4-1 record after two losses against Manitoba last weekend at home. Chris Collins and Elgin Pearce lead the way for the Dinos the scoring department, each with three goals and five assists in eight games. Spencer Edwards is tied for third in Canada West with five goals so far.
Troy Hunter (pictured) leads the Cougars with four points heading into the weekend, while Fowlie,
Dylen McKinlay,
J.J. Coleshaw and
Zach McPhee are right behind him with three each.
Regina has seen three different goaltenders start games this season, with
Dawson MacAuley appearing in five contests,
Mitch Kilgore seeing action in four, and
Andy Desautels playing in two. MacAuley has a .895 save percentage, while both Desautels and Kilgore are at a mark of .857.
Friday's game is set for 7 p.m. (MDT) and Saturday's game will face off at 6 p.m. (MDT). Both games will be available for viewing on www.canadawest.tv.
