The University of Regina men's hockey team was swept by Mount Royal University on Saturday afternoon, falling 6-2 to MRU at the Flames Community Arenas.
Ian McNulty (pictured) scored just 25 seconds into the game, netting his second of the season on a two-on-one rush with
Logan Harland.
Tyler Bell added to the Cougar lead with his first goal of the Canada West campaign at the 4:31 mark of the first, ripping a slap shot to the top corner.
Mount Royal rattled off six-straight goals, as Luke Simpson and Jamal Watson tied the game before the end of the opening frame.
Watson added his second of the game for the lone goal of the second period before Connor Rankin, Taylor Green and Devin Gannon put things out of reach with goals in the third period.
Mitch Kilgore made the start in net, stopping 27 shots for the Cougars. Colin Cooper stopped nine shots at the other end of the rink.
Regina (1-9-0) returns home next weekend for a two-game set against the 4-6-0 UBC Thunderbirds.
