The University of Regina men's hockey team fell victim to a big third period as the Manitoba Bisons skated to a 3-0 win in Canada West play on home ice on Friday night.
Remi Laurencelle scored twice and Adam Henry also found the net as the Bisons scored three times in the third period, dropping Regina to 3-13-1 on the season.
The Bisons (7-9-1) outshot the Cougars 23-16 through the first two periods, with both
Andy Desautels (pictured) and Byron Spriggs stopping everything that came their way in net through 40 minutes.
Laurencelle put the home team on the board just 75 seconds into the third before Henry added an insurance goal with a beauty of a wrist shot at the midway point of the period. Laurencelle sealed the victory at the 17:38 mark of the third, sending one into the empty net for his second of the night.
Desautels finished with 29 saves in the loss while Spriggs stopped 23 Cougar shots for his first shutout of the season.
The Cougars and Bisons will face off again on Saturday afternoon, with puck drop scheduled for 1 p.m. at Wayne Fleming Arena.
