The University of Regina men's hockey team will complete a five-game road swing this weekend with a pair of contests against the UBC Thunderbirds.
The Cougars (1-2-1) are coming off a split with Mount Royal University that saw both games go into a shootout. Regina took a thrilling 7-6 win on Friday night but MRU rebounded for a 5-4 victory as both teams earned their first wins of the Canada West season.
Scoring for the Cougars in Friday's win were

Ian McNulty,
Ben Duperreault,
Colton Sparrow and
Zak Zborosky. Saturday's matchup saw
Cody Fowlie score twice, with
Tyler King and Frei also finding the net.
Michael Herringer played both games in net, stopping 32 shots on Friday and 43 on Saturday. The rookie netminder has made a Canada West-high 145 saves through four games this season.
Brody Luhning is off to a hot start distributing the puck, collecting six assists through four games and leading the Cougars in total points. McNulty has five, while Duperreault, Fowlie, Frei and Zborosky each have three.
UBC opened its season with a 6-4 win over Manitoba but has dropped its last three, falling 3-2 to Manitoba and 6-1 and 7-0 to Calgary. Third-year forward Austin Vetterl leads the T-Birds attack with four goals and one assist. Matt Hewitt and Rylan Toth have split time in net, both posting goals-against averages just over 5.00 and save percentages around the .850 mark.
The two teams split their four regular season games a season ago, with the home team winning all four. The Cougars took 6-1 and 4-3 wins at The Co-operators Centre while UBC won 5-2 and 4-1 decisions on home ice.
