The University of Regina men's hockey team returns home this weekend for a pair of evening matchups with the Lethbridge Pronghorns at The Co-operators Centre.
Regina (2-8-2) is coming off a split against the No. 9-ranked Calgary Dinos last weekend, as Zach McPhee scored the game winner in a 3-2 win on Friday night before the Dinos bounced back for a 3-2 win on Saturday. Cody Fowlie, Tristan Frei and McPhee scored for the Cougars on Friday and Ian McNulty and Frei had markers on Saturday.
Cougar Leaders
Zak Zborosky is tied for the Canada West lead among rookies with 12 points, as his five goals and seven assists are tied for the Cougar lead as well. McNulty has four goals and eight assists, while Brody Luhning keeps racking up the assists with his season total up to 11 now. Fowlie has five goals and three helpers while Tyler King has chipped in with four goals and three assists from the blue line.
Michael Herringer got the decision on both the weekend games in net for Regina, although Dawson MacAuley made the start in Friday's contest. MacAuley stopped all 14 shots he faced in the first period but didn't return for the second frame after suffering an injury. Herringer stopped 45 shots in his five periods of work, upping his appearances this season to 11 out of the 12 Regina games.

Lethbridge enters the weekend just a point above Regina in the Canada West standings, with a 3-8-1 record. Fifth-year forward Mitchell Maxwell is the leading scorer for the Pronghorns with six goals and 11 assists. Justin Valentino is the only other Lethbridge skater with double-digit points, with five goals and five assists. Blarke Orban has added five points and Jay Merkley, Dalton Sward and Dallas Valentine each have four.
Garret Hughson has made eight appearances in goal for Lethbridge and is responsible for all three Pronghorn wins. Hughson has a 3.88 goals-against average and a .894 save percentage, while backup Ty Edmonds is 0-4-0 with a 5.32 GAA and .832 save percentage.
The History Books
Lethbridge took three of four from the Cougars a season ago, but before that Regina had won 13 of the last 16. Regina holds a .589 all-time winning percentage against Lethbridge, the highest against any current Canada West school.
