The University of Regina women's hockey team will open up its postseason schedule this weekend, as the Cougars travel to Saskatoon for a best-of-three Canada West quarterfinal series against the Saskatchewan Huskies.

The Cougars
Regina finished the regular season with a 10-13-4-1 record, claiming fifth place in Canada West. Seven of the Cougars' 14 wins came on the road, two of which required overtime.

The Opponent
The Huskies enter the Canada West playoffs as the four seed, with an 11-10-4-3 regular-season record. Saskatchewan is coming off 3-1 and 2-0 wins over Lethbridge to cement their fourth-place standing and home-ice advantage for the quarterfinal series. Nine of the Huskies' 15 wins came on home ice this season.

By the Numbers
10 – Number of wins Jane Kish had in the regular season, after appearing in only four contests in her rookie season with the Cougars.

24 – Number of points Jaycee Magwood piled up in the regular season, enough to lead the Cougars while appearing in only 24 games. Kaitlin Willoughby led the way for the Huskies, with 11 goals and 10 helpers in 24 appearances. Both athletes, along with Regina's Kylie Gavelin and Alexis Larson, won silver with Team Canada at the FISU Winter Universiade in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

92 – Saskatchewan's Kaitlin Willoughby is second among active Canada West players with 92 career points. Kylie Gavelin has the most among active Cougar skaters with 84.

8 – The Cougars hold the lead in the all-time playoff series between the two teams, winning eight out of the 14 matchups.

The History Books
The Cougars took three of four games from the Huskies this season, including wins in both games at Saskatoon's Rutherford Rink. The lone win for the Huskies came in overtime at The Co-operators Centre.

The last playoff meeting between the Cougars and Huskies took place in the Canada West final of the 2013-14 season. The marathon best-of-three series ended up in a two-games-to-one win for the Huskies after a total of eight overtime periods.

The Cougars swept the Calgary Dinos in a Canada West quarterfinal series a year ago before falling in three games to the eventual Canada West champion UBC Thunderbirds in a semifinal matchup.
