The University of Regina's women's soccer team lost to the University of Manitoba Bisons 3-1 on Friday night.

The two teams battled back and forth in the first half, but the Bisons scored with five minutes left in the half. The Cougars had some great chances in the first but couldn't capitalize on them.

In the second half, first-year forward
Peyton Enns scored her first career Canada West goal on a nicely placed penalty shot to the left of the Bisons keeper.
Shayla Lukey drew the call by centering the ball from the left corner and causing a hand ball in the box.

The Bisons scored early in the second half and never looked back. The Cougars had some momentum following their goal but was shut down the rest of the game by a stout Manitoba defense. The Cougars were also called for five offsides, putting a stop to their progression down the field. The Bisons attempted 22 total shots while the Cougars attempted 10.

Goalkeeper
Allyson Ford was solid for the Cougars, making several great saves in the process to keep the game within reach. She finished with nine saves on 12 shots on goal by the Bisons.

The Cougars play the Bisons again tomorrow, September 11
th, at 6:00pm CT (5:00pm in Sask).
