THE MATCH
- The two teams came into Sunday with the score tied at 1-1 after the squads traded goals in the opening minutes of the match on Friday
- Bianca Cavalcanti scored just seconds into the second half to give the Bisons a 2-1 lead
- The Cougars' best chance of the day came in the 62nd minute when a header from Grace Miller looked to be on target, but was cleared at the last minute by a Manitoba defender
- Breyanna Johnston-Krulicki, who scored Manitoba's goal on Friday, added another one today on a shot from distance in the 71st minute which took a high, hard skip off the wet turf and into the Regina net
QUOTABLE
"It wasn't a lack of effort from the players on the field. The opportunities were there, but our final third has to be better. We left a lot of goals that we didn't score on the turf, but we'll address that in training and we'll grow from it." - Cougars head coach
Astrid Baecker
NEXT UP
