• The Rams suffered a close road loss to unbeaten Manitoba last Saturday, falling 22-13 to the Bisons in a contest which saw the two teams separated by a single possession for 50 of the game's 60 minutes.
• Since a Week 2 win at Alberta, Calgary has dropped three straight close decisions by a total of just 11 points including last week's 32-30 home loss to UBC. The Dinos sit at 1-4, but are just one win behind the three teams tied for third place at 2-3.
• Manitoba remains undefeated at 5-0, two wins of second-place UBC (3-2). The Rams, Saskatchewan, and Alberta all sit tied for third place at 2-3 with Calgary just behind at 1-4.
STELLAR D: Despite a number of key injuries, the Rams continue to play well on the defensive side of the ball. Regina ranks second in Canada West with just 110 points allowed, and the Rams also rank eighth in all of U SPORTS with an average of 17.6 points conceded per game.
POLIUS LEADING THE WAY: DL
Tarick Polius got through for another sack last week at Manitoba, giving him a Canada West-leading 3.5 for the season. Polius is tied for sixth in the nation in sacks and is also third in Canada West with 4.5 tackles for loss.
TACKLE LEADER: LB
Cameron Mah had another big game on Saturday, collecting 4 solo tackles and 10 assisted tackles against the Bisons. Mah has a team-leading 27.0 tackles this season, is second on the Rams in both tackles for loss (3.5) and sacks (2), and also has one of the Rams' six interceptions this season.
MIMBS PULLS IN 100TH CATCH: Two weeks ago at Alberta, SB
D'Sean Mimbs became the 15th University of Regina receiver to haul in 100 career receptions. He had 2 more catches last week and now has 103 catches in his four U SPORTS seasons, needing just 13 more to jump past Jason Clermont and Kyle Moortgat for 10th in school history. Mimbs leads the Rams with 24 catches and is second on the team with 261 receiving yards.
BIG PLAY: QB
Noah Pelletier connected with WR
Nicholas Sirleaf on a crossing pattern for the Rams' longest play from scrimmage this season last week at Manitoba. Sirleaf took it up the left sideline for a gain of 55 yards, which set the table for RB
Marshall Erichsen's 7-yard touchdown run on the very next play. Sirleaf now has 18 receptions this year and has taken over the team lead with 275 receiving yards.
ERICHSEN BREAKS OUT: The Rams had been happy to roll with a three-man rotation at running back over the first four weeks with RB
Marshall Erichsen, RB
Jevon Garwood, and RB
Olivier Savard all getting carries. That strategy changed at Manitoba, when Erichsen was given all 16 carries and went for 86 yards including his 7-yard touchdown. Erichsen did almost all of his damage in the first half, running for 80 of his 86 yards in the first two quarters alone.
ALL APPEL IN THE RETURN GAME: SB
Kenton Appel has registered all 30 of the Rams' punt returns through the first five weeks of the season. He's averaging 6.7 yards per return and has a season-long return of 28 yards which came in Week 3 against UBC. Appel is on pace to threaten WR
Emmett Steadman's school single-season record of 50 punt returns, set in 2022 in Steadman's second year of eligibility with the Rams.
McKELLAR STEPS UP: LB
Colin McKellar has been busy since stepping up at the will linebacker position early in Week 4. He had only 4.5 tackles while dressing for two of the team's first three games of the season, but has recorded 5 solo tackles and 6 assisted tackles in both of the previous two games and is now second on the Rams with 20.5 tackles.
DAK STATS: DL
Jacob Dakiniewich had a pair of big plays at Manitoba. He had a strip sack on the final play of the first half with the Bisons looking to air one out towards the end zone, and also tipped a 34-yard field goal attempt to become the first Rams player to block a kick this season.Â
NEW LOOK RAMS: The Rams have gone with two different colour combinations in the three games since unveiling their new Under Armour jerseys in Week 2. They've worn green jerseys with green pants in their two home games, and the white/white combination in both away games. Equipment manager
Bob Thomas tells us that the Rams will debut a fresh look on Saturday with green jerseys and white pants.
TEAM CAPTAINS: The Rams have seven captains this season including LB
Cameron Mah, LB
Chopper Hippe, QB
Noah Pelletier, DB
Jackson Sombach, RB
Christian Katende, OL
Connor Klassen, OL
Parker Hodel, and SB

DRAFT REPORT: The Rams had two players selected in the 2024 CFL Draft. SB
D'Sean Mimbs went in the sixth round to the Saskatchewan Roughriders with the 50th overall selection, while DB
Jackson Sombach was taken in the seventh round (60th overall) by the Calgary Stampeders. Both players are back with the Rams this season. LB
Chopper Hippe, OL
Connor Klassen, and DB
Dolani Robinson all participated in the U SPORTS East-West Bowl earlier this year. This year's East-West Bowl was a showcase which featured (for the most part) players available for selection in the 2025 CFL Draft.
RAMS TERRITORY: This year's roster features a total of 98 players, 66 of whom call Saskatchewan home. The Rams also have 15 Albertans, 9 from British Columbia, 4 from Ontario, 1 from Manitoba (DL
Praise Odogun), 1 from Quebec (RB
Olivier Savard), 1 from Arizona (DB
Cedric McCallum), and 1 from Washington (DL
Maliq Washington).
